Nobody likes spoilers. Unfortunately, this is part of watching live sports. You can’t join a livestream chat without worrying about somebody spoiling the next big moment. You can’t text your friends without the same risk too.
Problem solved! We’ve created a chat experience that delays messages from displaying until you are at the right time of the game/match.
Here’s our chat experience, located directly beneath our dynamic game/match clock
A message is already in the “Live Chat” when the video starts (7:01). After switching to the “Spoiler-Free Chat,” the message disappears, only to reappear at the exact right time.
In this example, a user made a comment about the game that happened at 6:56. Even as a user on a delay, you don’t see that message in the Spoiler-Free Chat until you reach 6:56.
NOTE: Creators will only have the Live Chat – they can never be delayed from themselves! But any viewer who properly synchronizes with their TV will be aligned with or behind the creator, preventing any spoilers for the creator too.
